During each spring and fall equinox in Chichén Itzá, the great pyramid of Kukulcán has 91 steps on each of the four sides, including one step on top, constitute 365 steps corresponding one for every day of the year. On the Spring & Autumn equinox, in the afternoon a serpent-like shadow slithers down its staircase.
